The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters 1798 by Francisco Goya

As I dream, they come to haunt me. Everytime I close my eyes I am never left alone. They want me dead, gone forever. Why do they haunt me? Why do they bother me so much? I jus wish to be left alone. To have a peaceful life free of these dreadful and annoying monsters. All I want is a nice life,peaceful and calm...free from them

Wife of Bath

The wife of Bath is not a woman that modern day women should look up to because she was gold-digger and used me for all her personal needs instead of just finding someone and keeping them for herself. When she finally found a man that she actually liked, he ended up doing the same thing to her. The wife ended up getting what she deserved because of all the wrong things she did to other men. Women should not do men this way, nor should men do women this way either. We should not "entertain" a person just so we can see what they can give us. That can put other people into emotional distress or into a messed up mindset. Either way it always ends up wrong.

Modern Day Pardoner

A modern day pardoner is a person who tricks people to get money and other things of value. He uses scandals and other means to deceive someone on his quest to gain these things. He tells people lies so he can get all the things that he wants. His victims always believe everything that he says which makes him look so must better in others eyes. Since others watch how he treats other people, they start to believe what he has to say. Anybody can be a pardoner, it just depends on how they do it. Some do it different ways so you always have to watch for signs of being tricked.

Sonnet 113

SONNET 113
Since I left you, mine eye is in my mind;
And that which governs me to go about
Doth part his function and is partly blind,
Seems seeing, but effectually is out;
For it no form delivers to the heart
Of bird of flower, or shape, which it doth latch:
Of his quick objects hath the mind no part,
Nor his own vision holds what it doth catch:
For if it see the rudest or gentlest sight,
The most sweet favour or deformed'st creature,
The mountain or the sea, the day or night,
The crow or dove, it shapes them to your feature:
Incapable of more, replete with you,
My most true mind thus makes mine eye untrue.

Response:
I see this man as talking about how him and his wife are separated.
During this separation, he cannot get his wife out of his mind.
He seems to miss her and want her back.
His mind is filled with memories and thoughts of old time as he reminisces.

Riddle

I come and go when used. You can have a little of me or alot of me. I can get you out of tight situations. I can also put u into tight situations to the point where people will come after you to get me. You give me up when u want something. Most people get mad if they lose me. I can be the downfall of most men. What am I?

Sept. 11

I was in 4th grade on Sept. 11th, 2001. I remember it being a normal day and my morning had been moving the way it normally did. I'm at school and like 5 minutes after the tragedy, my principal came on the intercom and announced that a plane had hit the world trade center. My teacher got nervous and rushed to her phone because her sister was working in the building. Because we were in 4th grade, we really did not know to much of what to think about what had happened. We did not realize the magnitude of it until my teacher comes back into the room crying. Her sister was in the building when it got hit. All i could do was feel sympathy for other families because i knew that they would be feeling the same way my teacher was feeling. After we found out, we had an immediate moment of silence then my principal prayed over the intercom that it was not too many people hurt.

Is Grendel A Monster?

Grendel is not a monster. He may have monster characteristics, but I do not feel that he is a monster. Grendel did things that portayed him as a monster, but he also seemed to have feelings too. He just wanted to be happy like everyone else. He did not bother anybody until prevoked. If u really think about it, humans act the same way. All humans act out in a sort of retaliation when prevoked. We all have our different ways of confronting different situations. Grendel just happens to resort to violence as his retaliation. He was not a monster, just misunderstood.
