Oedipus Rex
Oedipus Rex's parents were told that they were going to conceive a son that would later grow up to kill his father and end up marrying his mother. The parents blow it off until he is born and just let him live with no problems. The prophecy ends up coming true and the father gets killed so that he could marry his mother. This story is really not believable. I dont see this happening at all in any lifetime.

I agree that it isn't believable, especially since it would go as far as murder.
